In order to provide prospective fitness professionals access to ISFTA’s Certifications and CEU courses, we need a highly qualified team of professionals who are willing and able to educate and examine new fitness professionals on a continuous basis.

To be considered as an ISFTA Course Instructor, you MUST possess a combination of the following:

 

Proposed Candidate Qualifications- 1 Proposed Candidate Qualifications-2
  • A degree or diploma in a fitness or health related field
  • Minimum (2) two years active experience in your field
  • Experience teaching adults, presenting workshops or conferences
  • Owner of a Health Club or Fitness Facility OR are able to provide a guaranteed host location with proper teaching requirements.
  • Willing to learn and have the desire to stay up to date in current fitness trends.
  • Enthusiasm, excitement and a passion for the fitness industry!
  • Secondary School Diploma
  • Minimum of (5) years of active experience in your field
  • Hold a current certification in a related discipline for a minimum of (2) years.
  • Experience teaching and training within the fitness industry.
  • Experience teaching adults, presenting workshops or conferences
  • Owner of a Health Club or Fitness Facility OR are able to provide a guaranteed host location with proper teaching requirements.
  • Willing to learn and have the desire to stay up to date in current fitness trends.
  • Enthusiasm, excitement and a passion for the fitness industry!

 

10 STEPS to Becoming an ISFTA TEAM MEMBER:

Step 1: Complete the Application/Agreement

Step 2: Include a one page letter of intent describing your qualifications and include an attachment of your resume or CV and (3) professional references to support your letter.

Step 3: Include copies of your professional certifications as well as an up to date Certificate of Liability Insurance.

Step 4: Include a letter of support or guarantee from a confirmed host location stating that they agree to become an ISFTA Fitness Education Center and will host any and all Certification and CEU Courses taught by approved ISFTA Course Instructors.

Step 5: Include 1099 IRS form or other appropriate tax filing

Step 6: Include signed Confidentiality Agreement

Step 7: Include signed Affidavit of Good Moral Character

Step 8: Include signed Independent Contractor Agreement

Step 9: Include signed Commission Addendum (Exhibit A)

Step 10: Include Short Instructor Bio and Headshot for use on the ISFTA Website

Once your application has been submitted and approved you will be required to complete the ISFTA Instructor Development Course (IDC).  This training is MANDATORY and is conducted in an online webcast format. The IDC covers topics including a review of the ISFTA standards for certification, marketing and promotion of your courses as well as instructor expectations and pay structure . Our goal is to ensure an adequate level of knowledge and understanding of our process and procedures for certification. You MUST listen to the training in its entirety in order to earn your status as an ISFTA Course Instructor.  You are also invited to attend a live Q&A Session conducted by one of the ISFTA Leadership Team, which is held on a weekly basis.

Upon completion of the training, the instructor will be authorized to conduct courses to students who wish to complete any and all ISFTA Certification(s) and/or other CEU Courses in which ISFTA deems you are eligible and qualified to teach.
